Prepping the People's Market of Lansing!

We have been working away at the new People's Market of Lansing! We are filling it with cupboards, dressers, shelves, and are building a counter. The counter top was from the old tile store downtown and we are building the bottom with barn boards and are even using square nails! A lot of our materials are coming from the Fingerlakes Re-use store which has been a great resource for us as we start these new businesses. We are trying to stay local and support our local businesses in as green a way as possible.
The accounting office is coming together and will be up and running at it's new location soon. We have been ordering and stocking our Angel Tree Farm items and are filling the fiber room with our alpaca yarns, roving and raw fiber. Sadly we have emptied our things out of the Barn House (Leisure Time Antiques and Collectibles) and have brought some of the things to the People's Market to use as displays. We will be selling some of the antiques from there that fit with this business as well.
On the business end we have been compiling lists of potential vendors, creating some guidelines for them and will be having an organizational meeting to meet and come together as a group. Please email us at peoplesmarketoflansing@gmail.com you feel you have an item that might be a good fit for our store.
We continue to work on signs, phone, Internet, business cards and all the little things that support a business...oh yeah I have Facebook page on my list for today as well! We have a twitter as well but who has time to tweet with all of this going on??:-)

We are hanging shelves and hooks and prepping for the influx of crafts and fine pieces of art for the market.
We are looking forward to meeting the potential vendors, working on the market and prepping for the opening  around the second week of February!  Stay tuned!
